There is a schedule of services that all manufacturers recommend for vehicles. If you ever have a problem with your vehicle after the warranty has expired and you need financial assistance from the dealership, the first thing that the dealership does is

look up your service history at that particular dealership in the computer. This helps them to see what kind of assistance they might offer depending on how much money you have spent at their dealership in the past.

If you purchased the vehicle at that dealership and had all of the recommended services done at that dealership, chances are they do not want to loose you as a preferred customer and will offer some kind of financial assistance. If you did not purchase the vehicle at that particular dealership and have do not have a history of service at that dealership you will probably be out of luck.
