16. ODOMETER READINGS

You see a great looking vehicle on the new car lot, right? Well, that vehicle could be what is called a “demo.” It is driven by lots of people to see if they like that make/model vehicle. Some demos have up to 700 miles on them at the time of sale. odometer-readings.jpg

The dealership would like you to pay just as much for a demo as if it only had 3 or 4 miles on it. Make sure that you look at the odometer on your vehicle before you purchase the vehicle and sign paperwork. Make note what is on the “odometer reading stipulation page” within the contract. It should be the same as the odometer on that particular vehicle. You would be surprised how often it is not.
